Regional Continuity of Operations (COOP) Plan
The Regional COOP Plan provides a framework to assess the resilience of local agencies across the Region for catastrophic events. It also provides guidance in expediting the resumption of essential services after a catastrophe. The project goal explores an all-hazards, multiagency response that is scalable from a single-site event within one jurisdiction to a large-scale regional emergency.
Essential considerations for Regional COOP planning include:
- Working to enhance the continuity of communications during emergencies and COOP activation periods
- Providing a COOP planning template with training for local COOP planners
- Identifying alternate communication sources, facilities, and regional resources for use in a catastrophic event
- Developing a roadmap of future COOP planning initiatives
